SUMMARY:Michelangelo - A Different View (open in RED)
DESCRIPTION:Under license from the Vatican Museums\, this exhibition offers the most complete and authentic reproduction of Michelangelo’s beautiful ceiling frescoes of the Sistine Chapel to be shown outside the Vatican \nMichelangelo — A Different View presents a very different picture of Michelangelo’s works: the exhibition shows photo-mechanically reproduced copies almost in original size and in a way that invites visitors to look at them up close and in their own time. \nMichelangelo — A Different View is a transformative experience that allows attendees to look down on ‘The Genesis’ that is enshrined on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel rather than up…. hence the exhibition’s name A Different View. This offers a much closer perspective of what its Florentine creator did. The rest of the frescoes are in frames and can be viewed from within 2 metres. \nWith no time constraints\, visitors can allow these masterpieces to truly soak in. \nSome 50 pieces\, including an almost original size\, 4.6m x 20m reproduction of ‘The Genesis’ (which includes The Creation of Man) and a 3.8m x 3.8m version of ‘The Last Judgment’ are just 1-2 metres away from the viewer\, while audio guides\, accessible via personal devices (please bring your own phone\, head set/earbuds)\, mean visitors can experience the Florentine master’s interpretation of The Bible’s creation story in a way they never imagined. \nAs an addition to – and to complete –  Michelangelo — A Different View\, reproductions of 14 of these impressive frescoes await visitors in the entrance. Scenes from the lives of Jesus and Moses\, painted by Sandro Botticelli\, Pietro Perugino\, Domenico Ghirlandaio and Cosimo Rosselli\, provide additional historical background and allow for a deeper insight into this epoch.

SUMMARY:Come Together - The Rolling Stones "Sticky Fingers" AUK
DESCRIPTION:New Zealand’s finest musicians Jon Toogood (Shihad)\, Sam Scott\, Luke Buda (Phoenix Foundation)\, Lou’ana\, Diane Swann & Deva Mahal\, Brett Adams\, Matthias Jordan\, Mike Hall\, (Pluto)\,  Finn Scholes (Carnivorous Plant Society)\, Nick Atkinson ( Supergroove)\, Karen Hu\, and Jol Mullholland MD\, perform The Rolling Stones’ greatest ever album Sticky Fingers.\n50 years ago\, the Rolling Stones recorded what is arguably their greatest ever album. It was 500 days in the making and the wait was worth it.\nNow\, on the anniversary of its historic launch to the top of the US and UK album charts\, New Zealand’s finest musicians Come Together to bring *Sticky Fingers* back where it belongs: live on stage in the hands of a world-class rock band\, backed up by a second set of Rolling Stones classics and deep cuts to place this peerless masterpiece in its rightful context.\nTo many fans\, Sticky Fingers is the ultimate Rolling Stones album. From the instant party-starting riff of Brown Sugar to the elegantly wasted Wild Horses; the brassy sleaze of Bitch to the strung-out country-blues of Dead Flowers\, the lean and dirty classic from 1971 has been THE benchmark album for aspiring rock’n’roll bands for generations.\nRecorded between the legendary Muscle Shoals Studios in Alabama and back in London in the aftermath of guitarist Brian Jones’ untimely death\, Sticky Fingers introduced new kid Mick Taylor and found Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at the height of their songwriting powers. As the ’60s dream imploded behind them\, their raw\, raunchy survivors’ swagger would seal their legend and make them the biggest stadium rock band in the world.
