At the end of that tour he was invited to perform Munkustrap for the 10 year anniversary cast of Cats in Hamburg and then Rum Tum Tugger for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Australian production of Cats. He has since made many musical appearances in NZ including crooning in Fly Me To The Moon at Downstage; bellowing in Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well at Circa; getting crucified again and again in Jesus Christ Superstar with both Wellington Musical Theatre and Showbiz Christchurch; and gyrating and wailing with the bombastic Zeppelin tribute: Whole Lotta Led. Matt relished playing the Engineer in Showbiz’s NZ premiere of Miss Saigon; Starlight Express arena tour\, Evita\, Blood Brothers and Mamma Mia! \nOne of New Zealand’s most experienced stage and television artists\, Nigel Godfrey\, will narrate the unprecedented showbiz journey taken by the Macphersons\, weaving stories of their life on the road through musicals performances and appearances from some of the world’s biggest entertainment personalities. Nigel’s association with the Macphersons has been a special one\, highlighted by numerous tours of The Original Phantom of the Operato Japan. As well as roles in favourites Anything Goes and My Fair Lady\, Nigel has appeared many times television series Shortland Street\, Power Rangers\, Xena: Warrior Princess\, and Hercules. He also appeared as W.C. Fields in the Peter Jackson remake of the Hollywood blockbuster King Kong. \nSoprano Leanne Howell has recently returned from the West End\, having been a lead vocalist and dancer in productions including Crazy for You\, The Rat Pack: Live from Las Vegas\, and City of Angels\, as well as choirs for Britain’s Got Talent and at Wembley Stadium under the direction of Sir Elton John. \nThe cast will be led by musical director\, Tom Rainey – an instrumentalist\, arranger\, composer\, producer\, and conductor. DESCRIPTION:Link to original recording of Melting Pot here\nLink to original recording of Asian Paradise here  \nOne of New Zealand’s most cherished bands ever\, When The Cat’s Away\, will reunite for the first time in 33 years in a special\, one-night-only event\, to farewell their friend and fellow bandmate\, Margaret Urlich\, who sadly lost her life last year. \nA TRIBUTE TO MARGARET URLICH will feature the four original members of the Hall of Fame group Debbie Harwood\, Annie Crummer\, Dianne Swann and Kim Willoughby\, performing their biggest hits including Melting Pot and Asian Paradise. \nThe multi-media event will honour the extraordinary life of the singer described as a “true and rare talent\, who lit up any room”\, a four-time winner of New Zealand Female Vocalist of the Year\, winner of Best Selling New Zealand Artist of the Year\, an Aria-award winner\, a mother and a friend. \nThe event will also feature original members of the When the Cat’s Away backing band\, Brett Adams and Gary Verberne on guitars and Holidaymakers’ maestro Barbara Griffin on keys\, as well as The Band of Gold who have been Debbie and Margaret’s NZ band for the past 14 years. DESCRIPTION:Following the massive success of last year’s concert by New Zealand’s most cherished supergroup When The Cat’s Away\, the gals will embark on a four-venue tour this April and May. \nWith mega hits including Melting Pot and Asian Paradise\, the four original members of this Hall of Fame group Debbie Harwood\, Annie Crummer\, Dianne Swann and Kim Willoughby will perform in Christchurch\, Wellington\, Dunedin and return to Aucklandby popular demand over four weekends\, beginning on 14 April. \nThe concerts will see them reunited with their old friends Herbs whose hits like French Letter and Nuclear Waste provided the soundtrack to the anti-nuclear movement in the 80s expressed through the joy and unifying medium of beautiful music. Annie Crummer’s hit See What Love Can Do featured Herbs on vocals and permanently linked the bands who had become champions of the people in the eighties. \nFast-forward almost 40 years and these two bands maintain legions of fans and are classed as national treasures. Tickets to this historic tour – the first in three decades by the originals – go on sale today via Ticketek and Ticketmaster.
